The challenge this week over at Heart 2 Heart is a layout that includes journaling, or telling a story. This layout is from my Dreamin’ Workshop, and is my take on the secondary layout. I flipped all the papers so I would get the other side of the patterns. The pictures are printed in sepia, and that seemed to go perfectly with the colours in this paper pack.
I don’t seem to be able to get a clear close-up of the journaling, so I will just tell you the story here...
My grandparents started the family tradition of taking my cousins, my sister and me, to the pumpkin patch to choose our Halloween pumpkins every year. It was always a much-anticipated event, something special that we looked forward to for months in advance. Now that I have my own children, and live across the country from my own parents, the trek to the pumpkin patch is even more meaningful. I love to watch their delight in choosing their pumpkins, going on a hayride, visiting the petting zoo, and all the other fun things that family farms in our area offer. This year, we trekked to Abbotsford, BC, to the Apple Barn and had a great time despite the pouring rain. This page is one of the many about our day at the patch, and the pictures are of the boys on the hayride down to the pumpkins. Funnily enough, after I completed this page, I spoke to my dad on the phone and he had just taken my nieces and nephews to the patch back home in Ontario! Thank you Gramma and Grampa for starting this wonderful tradition!
Thanks for looking, and now I am heading over to Heart 2 Heart so I can check out all of your stories! Happy scrapping!
