Color my Heart Color Dare #5: Create your own Rainbow

This week over at Color my Heart, the Color Dare was to create your own rainbow.  I selected Cranberry, Sunset, Sunny Yellow, Clover Meadow, Dutch Blue and Gyspy inks to stamp with, to create a bright and sunny rainbow.  I stamped pennants in each colour, overlapped them, and attached some Grey Wool baker's twine to finish off the look.  Here is what I came up with:

It's hard to tell in this picture, but the photos actually show a rainbow behind son on first base during his first baseball game.  I thought the pictures were fitting  for the theme.  I kept the rest of the layout clean and simple.

CTMH Products used to create this layout include:
Cranberry, Sunset, Sunny Yellow, Clover Meadow, Dutch Blue, Gypsy and Black inks
Grey Wool, White Daisy, and Black cardstock
D1426 Over the Rainbow stampset
D1507 Urban Alphabet stampset
D1487 Vintage Type stampset
Grey Wool Baker's Twine
Dotty for You paperpack

H2H Challenge: Ribbon

The challenge over at H2H this week is to create a project using ribbon.  I love using ribbon, but often only put one type of ribbon on a layout.  So, this week, I created a layout from Magic, and included several different types of ribbon in my embellishments.  It was fun, and I love the look.

I created paper tiles and tied a different ribbon around each one of them.  There is also a ribbon laying underneath the buttons, and some waxy flax tied around the journalling box on the right.

CTMH Products used to create this layout include:
Florentine paper packet
Kraft cardstock
Foundry pin clips
Cocoa and chocolate inks
Colonial white grosgrain ribbon
Colonial white twill ribbon
Dark chocolate striped grosgrain ribbon
Chocolate baker's twine
Bamboo waxy flax

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like it!  Happy scrapping!

Color My Heart Color Dare #3

I am loving a brand new blog and challenge site, started by some fellow CTMH consultants called Color My Heart and they issue weekly color dare challenges.  It's a super fun way to get your creative juices flowing, and to challenge yourself to use colour combinations you might otherwise not have tried.  This week the colours were Dutch Blue and Sorbet, with the option to add a splash of green.  According to the rules of the challenge, you can also add neutral colours as needed.  I decided to do a layout this week.  I used the layout Backstage from Magic, and came up with this:

CTMH Products used to create this layout include:
Kraft, Dutch Blue, Sorbet, and Colonial White cardstock
Elemental paper pack (sorbet pattern)
Twitterpated paper pack (sweet leaf pattern)
Thoughtful Tidings stamp set
Typeset WOTG stamp set
Chocolate Baker's Twine
Pin Clips
Sorbet, Dutch Blue and Cocoa ink
Sponge Dauber
Color-Ready Cork Alphabet
Cricut Art Philosophy Collection
Magic

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like it!  And thanks to the ladies at Color My Heart for this fun challenge!  Happy Scrapping!

H2H Scrapbooking Layout

My son's 7th birthday party was this past weekend, and I looked no further than the sketch at H2H Scrapbooking for inspiration.  I liked the sketch because it incorporated quite a few smaller photos, and I like to scrapbook birthdays, but I always have lots of pictures that aren't great for printing in large sizes.  I like to include pictures of all the friends that came too, so I end up with lots of pictures.  Here is the sketch....

And here is what I did with it, using some grey flannel cardstock as background papers, and Dotty for You papers...

And because I can never stop at just one layout, I created another layout to use for this occasion using Kraft cardstock for the background, and Dotty for You papers as well.

So, now I have to get on printing the pictures and getting these papers into the album!

CTMH Products used for these layouts include:
Grey Flannel cardstock
Kraft cardstock
Dotty for You paper pack
Love Life Stamp Set
Fanfare Stamp Set
Cork Colour Ready Alphabet
Trinity Alphabet Stamp Set
Black and Grey Flannel inks
Cricut Art Philosophy Collection
Lagoon Baker's Twine
Silver Bitty Brads

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!

Mojo Monday 244 and H2H Colour Challenge

This week I decided to enter two challenges with one project. Over at Mojo Monday, the challenge was a cute little sketch, while the gals at H2H challenged participants to use black, white, and one other colour in a project. So here is the sketch...

And here is what I did with it, using black, white and juniper as my colours...

To create the flower with ribbon, I simply pulled the thread along one edge of the ribbon until I reached the right amount of ruffling. Then I tied it off, and used a button to cover the centre.

This time I chose not to stamp a sentiment, so I can decide what occasion to use the card for later.

CTMH Products used to create this card include:
Black, White Daisy and Juniper Cardstock
Cruisin' Paper Packet (argyle pattern only)
Cricut Art Philosophy Collection (used to cut the borders)
Black Ink Juniper ribbon Buttons (white)
White Baker's Twine

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!

H2H Challenge: Add a Photo

This was challenge was fun one, and right up my alley because I could create a layout. The challenge over at H2H was to add a photo to your project. If you know me at all, you know layouts are my favourite, so I used a layout from Magic, and simply added some photos. It was quick, and I got caught up with this month's photos! Since I had a hard time choosing a favourite of the layouts I created this week, I thought I would include them both... Products used to create these layouts include: Magic, Superhero paper packet, Cork Colour Ready Alphabet, Dimensional Elements Stars, Black Baker's Twine, and Photos, of course! Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Scrapping!
