Heart 2 Heart Challenge

So, as I am jumping into this new world of blogging and actually posting my artwork, I thought I would participate in my first ever challenge! Heart 2 Heart Challenges are sponsored and created by fellow Close to my Heart Independent Consultants. They inspire some fabulous artwork in sharing theirs, and I am a huge fan. This week's challenge was called Sentiment-ally Yours, and required participants to use only a sentiment stamp, and no other stamped images. It's harder than it sounds, especially since I am addicted to stamping! Instead, I turned to my Cricut and whipped up this cute card...

To make this card, I used Colonial White cardstock, and cut a 5" circle card using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I cut a 2 1/4" circle tag (also in Colonial White), and a 2 3/4" scallop circle using some matching blue cardstock I had on hand. I cut a 4 1/2" circle using Wonderland paper for the background, and stamped the sentiment from Hooray Bouquet (D1491) using Chocolate ink. I inked all the edges in Chocolate, and attached the Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Z1617) and some Opaques Adhesive Gems from the Mocha collection (Z1333). Voila! It took me longer to write about it than to make it! I hope you like it!

  1. What a beautiful card! I love finding great examples of circle cards as I'm not good at all with thinking them up! Your design is very inspiring - I love how the ribbon is used! Excellent work!

  2. Thanks so much! It was a snap to create with the Cricut, and I am in LOVE with that new ribbon. I am finding that I gravitate towards using it on every project these days!
